CARL E. HAGERTY

Carl E. Hagerty, 76, R.6, Frankfort, died early Thursday, May 26, at his home.

He was born March 1, 1912, to Elmer C. and Cora Carrie Johnson Hagerty in White County.

He married Bessie Jewett, Feb. 14, 1935, in Brookston. She survives.

He was a farmer and worked in the physical plant at Purdue before retiring in 1977. He was a 1931 Brookston High School graduate and moved to Clinton County from White County, 26 years ago. He was a member of the Federated Church of Brookston, where he served as an elder and was a member of the International Flying Farmers.

Also surviving are a daughter, Helen Widmer, New Richmond; a brother, Elmer J., Twin Falls, Idaho; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 Two sisters, a brother, a daughter and a grandson are deceased.

The funeral was conducted on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev Maurice Davis officiating.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston. During interment there was a flyover by the Flying Farmers.
