Walter J. Hacker

Walter J. Hacker, Sr., 83, of Tioga Rd., Monticello died Sunday. November 4, 2001 at White County Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 16, 1918 in Bloomington to Roy W. and Viola Polly Hacker. He married Mary M. Kitchen Payne on October 6, 1962, in Monticello. She survives.

He graduated from Bloomington High School and was a former Buffalo resident.

He had been employed as a driver for Studebaker and Pepsi Cola Bottling Co., both in South Bend.

He was a member of Buffalo Christian Church.

He was a member of the Monticello Moose Lodge and Monticello American Legion Post.

He was a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club South Bend Local and the International Organization and he was an International Representative for the Teamsters Union.

Surviving with his wife are a son, Timothy Hacker of Mishawaka; a step-daughter Mary Elizabeth Biancaniello of Ft. Wayne; a brother Robert Hacker of Monticello, five grandchildren and one step grandchild.

A brother John Hacker, a sister Evelyn Adams, and a son Walter Hacker, Jr., are deceased.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday at 2 pm. at Buffalo Cemetery with Greg Nydegger officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Christian Church.
