Paul Edmund Guntrip

Paul Edmund Guntrip, 87, R.1, Brookston, died Monday, Dec. 7, in his home. He had been in failing health for one year.

He was born May 3, 1905, to George H. and Elizabeth Maye Whisler.  He was married Nov. 28, 1929, to Helen Lora Swank, in Oak Park, Ill. and she died Nov. 16, 1992.

Until 1950, he was farmer and was an electrician at Purdue, for 20 years, retiring in November, 1970.

He was a member of White Co. Council on Aging Board of Directors, Red Cross Council on Aging Board of Directors, Frontier and Twin Lakes Senior Citizens Clubs, American Association of Retired Persons, Brookston IOOF Lodge and the Rebekah Lodge and the Badger Grove Community Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, James Edmund, Brookston and Larry George, Mt. Prospect, Ill.; 2 daughters, JoAnn Guntrip, Brookston and Diane Carol Guntrip, Los Angeles, Calif.; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sisters and a grandson are deceased.

The funeral was today at 10 a.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Lelan McReynolds and the Rev. Christi Schmidt officiating.

Burial was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.

Memorials may be given to the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Home at Greensburg.
