E. Gertrude "Gerty" Gudeman, 83, of Monon, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at Home Hospital, Lafayctte. She had been ill for three years.

She was born in Pulaski County on April 8, 1917. to Bert Nathan and Effie M. Combs Morris. She married Walter Q. Gudeman on June 15, 1946, in Kentland. He died on July 20. 1985.

She was a 53-year resident of the Monon community.

She was a homemaker. She was a waitress for several years at the Green Gables restaurant in Reynolds and the South Side Restaurant in Monon. She was also employed as a secretary at Ward Stone Co., in Monon and Medussa Aggregates in Francesville.

She was a member of Monon Community Church.

She was a former member of both the Woman of the Moose Lodge in Monticello and the Home Ec Club of Monon.

Surviving are a son, Larry (Sharon) Sims of Buffalo; a daughter Joni (Kevin) Diener of Monticello; three sisters, Beatrice Hunt and Bernice Reynolds, both of Monticello; a brother, Bill Morris of Monon; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

One brother and a grandson are deceased

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev Don Newman officiating

Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
