Charles L. Gross, 81, former Brookston resident, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998 at 11 48 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Delphi. He had been a patient there since July.

He was born Nov. 24, 1917 in Washington County to Charles Herman and Ella Barrett Gross. He married Iva Lucas Slauter on Dec. 13, 1964 in Brookston. She died Feb. 8,1994.

He moved to Brookston in. December 1939 from Orange County, Indiana.

The Herbert Roadruck farm had employed him and Wickersham Seeds, both of Brookston He retired from United Feed of Brookston in 1981.

Surviving are a stepdaughter. Barbara Larimer of Brookston, a niece, Colleen Trinkle of Indianapolis; two stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

A sister is deceased.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating.

Bunal was in the Battle Ground Cemetery, Battle Ground.
