He was born Nov. 1, 1945, in Williamsport. He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School and lived in Lafayette and Monon, before moving to Fort Wayne.

He graduated from Westfield Seminary and was ordained in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the former pastor of Monon Community Church and was the current pastor at Evangelical Christian Church in Fort Wayne.

Survivors include a son, Glen E. Gochenour, Ft Wayne; a daughter, Gloria J. Gochenour, Indianapolis; his parents Richard and Eulah Tyrie, Lafayette; a brother, Grover H. Gochenour, Lafayette; and a sister, Mrs Glen (Violet) Rainwater, Lafayette.

Funeral service was at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Wayne.
