Robert L. Gipson


Robert L. Gipson, 74, formerly of Brookson, died at 7:07 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, in Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne,

He was born October 31, 1915, in Brookson, to Manfred and Minnie P. Reynolds Gipson. He was married February 12, 1946, in Fort Wayne, to Mary Catherine Thiesen, who survives.

He served in the Navy during World War II. He was employed as Regional Area Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds at Fort Wayne Community Schools. He was also a member of Our Most Precious Blood Catholic Church of Fort Wayne. He lived in the Fort Wayne area for the past 44 years.

Surviving are 3 sons, Daniel L., Avilla, Ind., John M., Fort Wayne and Douglas A., Churubusko, Ind., 5 daughters, Catherine L. Watkins, New Haven, Ind., Teri A. Zielinski, South Bend, Ind., Jennifer J. Forney, Roberta L. Harding and Rhonda S. Gipson, all of Fort Wayne.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 1 sister, Lu Scholle, Sarasota, Florida and his mother also of Sarasota.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 28, in D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home and at Our Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Rev Leroy Moruuw officiated.

Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
