Julie Diane George, 16, of Brookston died Tuesday, January 22, 2002 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.
She was born at Lafayette Home Hospital on February 14, 1985, the daughter of Richard and Ann Oilar George.
She was a junior at Frontier High School, a member of the Class of 2003.
She participated in cross-country, track, basketball, cheerleading, choir and Sunshine Society.
During the summer, she was a member of the 4-H Club. She played summer softball as a member of the Comet travelling team and was a member of the McCutcheon Summer Basketball League.
She is survived by her parents, Richard "Rick" and Ann (Oilar) George of Brookston; sister, Jennifer (Sean) Brummett of Brookston; brothers David (Kristen) George of Kouts; grandmother Mildred Macdonald of Indianapolis; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her father is a teacher at Tri-County Middle-High School. Her mother is a fourth grade teacher at Frontier Elementary School.
Grandparents, Harry "Hap" and Eleanor (Biddle) Oilar and grandfather L. Ray George are deceased.
Funeral Services were Friday at Frontier High School, with the Rev. Dr. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
Burial was at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston. Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston was in charge of services.
