Vickie G. Garling

Vickie G. Garling, 41, Monon died Saturday, June 10, 2000 at White County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for a year and a half.

She was born in Lafayette on July 21, 1958 to Pete Garling and Carol Pearson Garling Blount.

She was a 1977 graduate of North White High School.

She was employed at Monon Corp. for 20 years and retired in 1998 due to health reasons.

She attended the First Baptist Church in Monon.

Surviving besides her mother and stepfather, Carol and John Blount, Sr., of Monon, her stepmother Mary Helen Beasy Garling, longtime companion, Curtis Hanway of Monon, three stepbrothers, John Blount, Jr. of Monon, Pete Garling, Jr. of Logansport and Rick Garling of Littleton, Colo; three stepsisters Beverly Young, Melissa Peterson and Erin Garling all of Monon; paternal grandmother, Irene Garling of Monon; and maternal grandmothers. Sue Pearson and Ruth Beasy, both of Monon.

Her father is deceased.

A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon with Rev. James Copeland officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
