Robert H. Garling, 90, of Francesville, died Friday, August 1, 2003 in Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.

He was born May 3, 1913 in Beaver Twp., Pulaski County, Indiana, the son of William and Minnie Doll Garling.

He married Ruth V. Chamness on February 27, 1935, in Wakarusa, IN. She died March 31, 1996.

He lived in Francesville most of his life and had formerly lived in Monon for 18 years. He was a farmer and a member of the St. James-Salem United Church of Christ in Francesville.

He is survived by a daughter Phyllis (Carl) McCormick of Homer Glen, IL; two sons, Melivn [sic] Garling and DeVon Garling, both of Francesille, three grandchildren, Angie Dickerson, Carmen Fabian and Scott McCormick. He had two great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. Two sisters, Edith Tucker, Francesville and Hanna Dommer, Winamac.

One son, Richard Garling, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were Monday, August 4, 2003 at Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home in Francesville with Rev. James Yater officiating.

Burial was in St. James-Salem Cemetery at Francesville.
