Retired U.S. Air Force Capt. David Jerome Gagnon, 49, 116 Holden Dr., Brookston, died Thursday, Sept. 21, at 1:30 p.m. in his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born Jan. 8, 1940, to George and Florence Hendrickson Gagnon, in Lafayette. He was married Sept. 6,1964, to Barbara Victor in Brookston. She survives.

He graduated in 1958 from Brookston High School and attended Purdue University and graduated from Arizona State University in 1967. He joined the Air Force in 1962 and retired in Dec. 1972 with a medical disability. He was a member of Brookston Federated Church. He was a past president of Brookston Optimist Club.

Surviving along with his wife are one son, Matt at home; two daughters, Chris and Joscelynn, also at home; parents Mr and Mrs George Gagnon, Brookston; two brothers, Ed, Indianapolis and Mike, St. Louis, Mo.

Funeral was Sunday in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, at 2 p.m., with the Rev Ralph Smith officiating.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
