John "Jack" Furrer, 70, a former local resident died Saturday, November 8, 2003 at Home Hospice in Fort Myers, FL. He had been ill for three months.
He was born at Lafayette on November 23, 1932, to Sam and Clara Frieden Furrer. He married Marcille Kyburz on March 3, 1956. She died in 1971.
He attended Wadena High School and lived in Jasper, White and Benton County areas most of his life.
He served in the army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a retired farmer and belonged to the American Legion Post #280 in Remington.
He is survived by sons, Allen (Connie) Furrer and Rex Furrer, both of Brookston and a daughter Nancy (Mike) Scott of Remington; sisters Arlene (Winsford) Wood of Fowler and Verna Furrer of Goodland. He had 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday at the Apostolic Christian Church in Wolcott with ministers of the church officiating.
Burial was in the Wolcott Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
