Janet Marie (Statton) Paul Fry, 69, of Tipton, died at her home early Wednesday, February 7, 2001.

She was born March 1, 1921 in Chalmers, the daughter of George and Etta Burns Statton. She was married February 5, 1993, to Herbert Fry. He died in November 1999.

She had moved to Tipton from Lafayette and Monticello in 1993.

She was a 1949 graduate of Chalmers High School and attended Butler University in Indianapolis.

She was a homemaker and was the former secretary for State Farm Insurance in Lafayette.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Monticello.

She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and Kappa Kappa Kappa and the Order of Eastern Star Crystal Chapter of Monticello.

She had received the Sagamore of the Wabash.

She is survived by three sons, Steve (Julie) Paul of Fredricksburg, VA, Dennis (Kathy) Paul of Burnettsville and John (Tami) Paul of Monticello; five step-sons; two sisters Jean (Moury) Schumacher, Punta Gorda, FL and Jo (Chuck) Klinger of Venice, FL; seven grandchildren; and several step grandchildren.

Private family services were Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with burial in Chalmers Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
