Word has been received of the death of Herbert Fry, 68, of Tipton, a former Brookston resident who died Sunday, Nov. 21, at Muncie Health 7 Rehabilitation Center, Muncie.

He was born March 12, 1931, to Lewis M. and Clara Sanbloom Fry, in Brookston. He was married August 16, 1952, to Dorothy E. Stoker, and she died Nov. 14, 1992. He then was married Feb. 1994, to Janet Statton and she survives.

He was employed in telephone construction.

He was a member of Hobbs United Methodist Church.

He was also a member of Tipton B.P.O. Elks.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Herbert Alan Fry of Los Alamos, N.M., Gary William Fry of Brookville, Pa, Richard Lee Fry of Boise, Idaho, Scott T. Fry of Albany and Mickey Lewis Fry of Leakey, Texas; a brother, Harold L. Fry of Brookston; and 10 grandchildren, Herbie, Caleb, Ashlee, Austin, Asa, Laura, Sam Sara Aaron and Dixie Fry.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Young- Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, with the Rev. Oscar Clark officiating.

The Tipton Elks Lodge conducted a memorial service at the funeral home.

Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Hobbs United Methodist Church.
