Lewis Vernon Fritz, 78 of Francesvilie died Sunday, December 11, 2000 at Our Lady of Holy Cross Care Center, San Pierre, Indiana.
He was born April 6, 1922 in Winamac, the son of Leslie and Hazel Earhart Fritz.
He married Doris Arlene Kruger on February 20, 1943 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She survives.
A retired truck driver for National Homes in Lafayette, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.
He had lived in Francesville all his lifetime. He was a member of the Tri-County Bible Church in Rensselaer; American Legion Post 228, Francesville and a retired member of Teamsters Local 135.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters; Phyllis (Harlen) Tomlinson, Monon and Karen Fritz, Francesville; two sons, Alan (Kay) Fritz, Winanac and Stephen (Yvette) Fritz, Winamac.
Two brothers; Robert (Carolyn) Fritz, Francesville and Clifford (Phyllis) Fritz, both of Winamac and one sister Thelma (Toby) Wantota, Wheatfield.
He had six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
One brother Harold Fritz preceeded him in death.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 20. 2000 at Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home in Francesville with Pastor James Gabhart and Pastor Dennis Snyder officiating.
Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
