Joseph C. Franscoviak, 89, of rural Monon died Monday, June 16, 2003 at White County Memorial Hospital following a two-year illness.

He was born in Jasper County on March 4, 1914, the son of Lottis G. and Mary Anna Stephani Franscoviak.

He married Evelyn L. Norris on November 23, 1938 in Rensselaer. She died February 1, 2002.

He had been a farmer all of his life and had lived in the community all his life.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Rensselaer.

He is survived by a daughter, Pat (Voyle) Ledyard of Ossian, IN; two sisters, Helen Lawson, Stockwell, IN and Anna Belle Lawson of LaPorte, IN. He had 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.

One son, Donald D. Franscoviak, two brothers and two sisters and a granddaughter are deceased.

Friends may call at the Kellogg Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at Kellogg Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2003, with Father James Goodrum officiating.

Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Fund.
