James L. Frank

James L. Frank, 76, of Monticello died on Friday, April 30, 2004 at White County Memorial Hospital.

He was born at Lafayette on February 21, 1928 to Carl and Lucille Funk Frank.

He married Mary Posthauer on June 13, 1958 in Lafayette. She died on December 11, 1990.

He married Marilyn S. Draper Cooper on September 17, 1992 in Monticello. She survives.

He was a 1945 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School.

He served in the Army Air Corps and later worked as a Lab Supervisor for ALCOA, from which he retired after 34 years of service.

He was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Lafayette and attended the Monticello United Methodist Church.

He was a member of the Redmans Lodge, the American Legion Post 81 and AmVets Post 91, all of Monticello. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge No. 143 of West Lafayette. He was a Past District Deputy and Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks and had served as the Indiana State Elks Committeeman. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and was an avid auto racing fan.

Other survivors include a daughter, Kathy L. Lumly of Brookston; a son, James Michael (Debra) Frank of Lafayette; a stepdaughter, Marlene Altman of Monticello; stepsons, Michael E. (Mary) Cooper of Frankfort. Mark I. (Cathy) Cooper, Mitchell, E. (Lil) Cooper, Marshall E. Cooper and Monte E. Cooper all of Monticello, Matthew E. (Shari) Cooper of Attica and Mauri E. (Lisa) Cooper of Lafayette; a brother, Charles Frank of Coco Beach, Florida, seven grandchildren, 17 step grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

A brother Gordon Frank is deceased.

Services were Tuesday at Fisher-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home.

Burial with full military honors was at Hughes Cemetery.
