Roscoe J.Fisher.
81, of Monticello. died Saturday, March 6. 1999 at St. Elizabeth Medical
Center in Lafayette.
He was born May
26, 1917 in White
County, the son of Roy D. and Ruth VanVoorst Fisher. He married Dorothy
M. Foltz on March 5, 1939 and she survives.
He was a 1935
graduate of Chalmers High School.
He worked for
the A,S.C.S., a division of the U.S. Department
of Agriculture for 20 years, retiring in 1978. He also farmed most of his
life.
He lived in Clermont,
Florida and visited Monticello in the summer. He moved back in 1998.
He was a member
of the Monticello Christian Church.
He was a 50 year
member of the IOOF. He was also an associate member of the Chalmers American
Legion.
He is survived
by his wife; two sons, Jim of Mishawaka and Tom of Park City, Utah; two
brothers, Melvin of Freemont. Mich., and Herbert of Brookston; three sisters,
Irene Irons of Monon, Edna Meeker of Lee's Summit. MO., and Phyllis Hughes
of Carmel and three grandchildren.
He was preceded
in death by two brothers.
Funeral services
were this morning at Miller-Roscka Funeral home with Rev. Donald Arturburn officiating
Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
