C. Harold Finney, 89, of Monticello and formerly of Rossvile died Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Timbercrest Church of the Brethren Senior Living Center, North Manchester.
He was born in Hancock County on December 16, 1915, to George F. and Hattie B. (Walker) Finney.
He married Helen L. Stockton Fickle on October 5, 1938. She died March 14, 1993.
He attended Clinton County Schools.
He had farmed in Clinton and Carroll counties for several years. He also worked for Crystal Dairy out of Remington until 1954. His milk route included the areas of Idaville, Burnettsville, Monticello and Buffalo. He retired from Clinton County Highway Department in Frankfort in 1976 after 17 years of service.
He was a former member of the Pittsburg Church of the Brethren and a member of the Living Faith Church of the Brethren. He was active on the original building committee for the Pittsburg Church.
He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Survivors include son, Ronald "Ron" (Harriet) Finney, North Manchester; daughter Sylvia (Leon) Gross of Monticello; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren[.]
Daughter, Shirley McKinney Martin, two half-brothers, three half-sisters, one great-grandson and one great-great-grandson are deceased.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Thursday with Pastor Janet Hildreth officiating. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Timbercrest Senior Living Center, North Manchester with visitation beginning at 1 p.m.
Burial will be at IOOF Memorial Gardens, Delphi.
