Nina C. Fife, Brookston died Friday, Aug. 14, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi. She had been a patient at the center for a year.
She was born Aug. 13, 1906, Loren and Sarah Ellen Stephen Pruitt, in Cass County. She was married Dec. 31, 1922, to Emmett Fife in Delphi, and he died in 1982.
She had lived in Carroll County since she was 12 years old.
During World War II, she worked at the Elwood Arsenal in Wilmington, Ill. and for six years she worked at the former Fix Nursing Home in Flora.
She was a 57-year member of the Delphi Wesleyan Church.
She was a charter and life member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary 9383 of Delphi and was a former member of the Westside Flower Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs Casimir (Verna) Cieryca of Kankakee, Ill and Mrs James (Margaret) Plunkett of Brookston; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
Two sons, six brothers and a sister are deceased.
Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 17 at the Horn Funeral Home, Delphi, with Pastor Nord Zootman officiating.
Burial was in IOOF Memorial Gardens, Delphi.
