Charles Beverly  Fergusun

Charles Beverly Ferguson, 74 Palm Coast, Florida, formerly of Brookston, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 10, at Memorial Hospital--Flagler in Bunnell, Florida.

He was born Feb. 3, 1922 to Charles and Vida Scott Ferguson in San Antonio, Texas. He was married Sept. 21, 1952, to Ann Buleza in Belgrade, Yugoslavia She survives along with several local cousins.

He attended school in Brookston and graduated from Salamonio Township High School, Warren, in 1940.

He graduated from Ball State Teachers College and University of Michigan, with a masters degree in geography.

He studied Arabic at the Foreign Service School in Beirut, Lebanon.

He retired as an educator in 1991. He spent several years as chairman of the Geography Department at Southern  Connecticut State College, New Haven, Connecticut.

He served 30 years of foreign service with the State Department in the Far East at Tokyo, Japan and the Middle East in Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Greece.

He was an executive with Frank E. Basil Inc. and Engineering and Consulting firm in Washington, D.C.

The funeral was this morning at Hartzler Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Miller officiating.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
