Frances Rose Ferdinand

March 8, 1915 - November 4, 2003

Frances Rose Ferdinand, 88, of Reynolds, died Tuesday, November 4, 2003, at Twin Lakes Village Nursing Home.

She was born in Tippecanoe County on March 8, 1915, to Owen E. and Addie Johnson Richardson. She married John U. Ferdinand at the St James Lutheran Parsonage in Reynolds on November 2, 1946. He survives.

She was a graduate of Monitor High School.

She was a homemaker and also assisted her husband as a bookkeeper in their corn shelling and lime hauling business.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Reynolds.

She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Women of the Moose and a former member of Honey Creek Extension Homemakers Club in Reynolds. She was a former Democratic Precinct Committeewoman and had worked the Election Board for many years.

She and her husband were Grand Marshals at the Heart of White county Festival in Reynolds. She enjoyed spending time at the USA Restaurant Coffee Club.

Other survivors include daughters Kay Rothenberger of Reynolds, Rose Ann (Frank) Vaughn of New Whiteland and Leah Ann (Bob) Marion of Monon, son Lee Wayne (Mary) Ferdinand of Reynolds; a brother Robert Richardson of Lafayette, a sister, Viola (Byron) Werner of Akron, Ohio; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

A sister, Elma Jane Scott, is deceased.

Funeral services were Thursday, November 6, at Fisher-Voorhis Draper Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Blakey officiating. [Burial was in IOOF Riverview Cemetery in Monticello.]
