Jesse Leland Fausset

Jesse Leland Fausset, 93, Sheridan, died Monday, Jan. 16, in Parkwood Healthcare Center, Lebanon. He was ill five years.

He was born April 8, 1895 to Charles M. and Naomi Stoops Fausset, in Boone County.

He was married Aug. 18,1917, to Nancy Verna Thompson, who died on Sept. 8, 1966. He later married Edith Keeling, Dec. 1967, who survives.

He retired from farming in 1960.

He was a member of the Terhune United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I. He was also a member of the Kirklin American Legion. He graduated in 1914 from Sheridan High School and in 1920 from Purdue. He joined the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity while attending Purdue.

Survivors also include four sons, Lewis R., Boise, Idaho; Jean F., Lebanon; Charles M., Brookston and Donald A., Kirklin; five step-sons, William Keeling, California; Richard Keeling, Anderson; John Keeling, Sheridan and Herbert Keeling, New Haven; and Hobart Keeling, Marion.  Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

The funeral was today at 2 p.m. in the Kercheval Funeral Home, Sheridan with the Rev Raymond C. Earle officiating.

Burial was in Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan.
