Mary Ellen England, 72, of Wolcott, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at her residence. She had been ill for three years, but her death was unexpected.

She was born on May 27, 1930 in Newton County, the daughter of Richard and Lucy Blake Bowman. She married C. Junior England on November 4, 1946. He died in 1993.

She was a Remington High School graduate.

She was retired from Indiana Ribbon in Wolcott and a former medical technician with Wolcott Ambulance Service.

She was a former Republican precinct committeeman, and a former member of the election board. She was a former member of the Wolcott Women's Club.

She was a member of Wolcott Christian Church.

Surviving are daughters, June (Fred) Sheets of Wolcott, Connie (Glen) Franks of Lafayette and Becky (Chuck) Smith of Macy; sisters Arvella Brunton of Wolcott, Julia Burrell of West Lafayette, Lucy Anderson of Scottsdale, Ariz., Helen Shehan of Tempe, Ariz., and Rachel Brewer of Remington; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services were today at Foster Funeral Home, Wolcott.

Burial was in Meadow Lake Cemetery, Wolcott.
