Emil Lyle Ellis, 67, LaPorte, died Monday, March 13, at hishome in LaPorte, following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 11, 1927, to Wilbur and Esther Swygman Ellis, in Chalmers, Ind. He was married Sept. 22, 1951, to Florence Joseph, in Reynolds, and she survives.
He had lived in LaPorte for the past 42 years, coming from Monticello.He had worked in construction at Woodruff & Sons for 30 years before retiring. He hadserved in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
He was a graduate of Reynolds High School and attended the United Methodist Church in LaPorte. He was a member of PRCU, Eagles, PNA and Amvets.
Surviving besides his wife, is a son Joseph S. Ellis, LaPorte; 2 grandchildren, and a sister, Alice Moncel, of Monon.
He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
The funeral
will be at 11 a.m., Thursday at the Haverstock Funeral Chapel with Pastor
Larry
Houseman officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-9 tonight. Burial will
be in
the Pine Lake
Cemetery in La Porte.
