Alfred "Bud" Eisert, 83, of Lafayette, died Dec.22, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. He had a heart attack while bowling at Star Lanes.
He was born Feb. 28, 1916, to Arthur Henry and Louise R. Anker Eisert, in Wolcott. He was married Aug 30, 1941, to Gracie King, in Brookston, and she survives.
He graduated in 1934 from Brookston High School and was also a graduate of Lafayette Business College.
He was in the U .S. Army during World War II and served as a Staff/Sgt.During the Burma Campaign.
He owned and operated Eisert Mobile Station in Brookston from 1940-1983. He also drove a school bus for Brookston School for 30 years.
He was a member of the Brookston Federated Church.
He was a member of the Jenks Euchre Club, Brookston American Legion Post 251 and a former member of the Brookston Optimist Club. He was an avid bowler in the Oldies But Goodies and Young at Heart Leagues.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs Victor (Patricia "Ruthie") Bianchi of Winfield, Ill.; sisters, Mrs Richard (Dorothy) Kelly and Carol Flynn, both of Chalmers: and two grandchildren; Mrs Troy (Daniella) Laubsch and Henry Eisert Bianchi.
A sister, Mabel Hiner is deceased.
Funeral services were Tuesday in the Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
Burial with Brookston American Legion Post 251 military rites was in the IOOF Cemetery,Brookston.
Memorials may be given to the Brookston Federated Church.
