Dorothy Jean Edwards, 81, of Daleville, died July 27, 2004 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born in Indianapolis on April 16, 1923 the daughter of Gross and Annie Ooley Arthur.
She had lived in Daleville for the past 26 years and was a former resident of Tipton, Spencer and Monon, Indiana.
She was a homemaker most of her life, and was a graduate of Freedom High school in 1941 and Indiana University in 1955. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority of Muncie, Daleville Christian Church, Daleville Christian Church Fellowship, and Daleville Womans Club. She was a charter member of the Daleville Community Library Board.
While living in Monon she belonged to the Monon Tri Kappa and Monon Modern Homemakers Club. Her husband served as North White School Superintendent.
Survivors include her husband Charles Edwards of Daleville, one son, Brook Edwards (fiancee Judy Walker) of Tipton; a daughter Lisa Jill (Tom) Haller of Indianapolis, a sister Olive Ann Johnson of Plainfield; one granddaughter, Abby Haller of Indianapolis and three nieces.
Funeral services were on Friday at the Daleville Christian Church with Gary McManus officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Indiana.
Ballard and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
