Frederick 'Fritz' Dunker

Frederick "Fritz" Dunker, 75, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000 at his residence.

He was born Nov. 6, 1924, to George and Thelma Strong Dunker, in Pulaski County. He was married Nov. 7, 1946, to Agnes Maxine Jeffries at Smithson, and she survives.

He graduated from Chalmers High School in 1943, and was a  U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He owned Dunker's Dari Isle in Brookston and retired in 1987 He had also worked for Hicksgas for 15 years and C& M Market in Reynolds.

He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Reynolds.

He was a member of Chalmers American Legion Post 268.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Cheryl K. Dixon, Delphi and Sande M. Storey, Austin, Texas; a son, Stephen J. (Sharon) Dunker. Chalmers; brothers, Ray Dunker, Reynolds and Ken Dunker, Greenville; sisters, Norma Schroeder of Crossville and Nancy Bilyeu, Reynolds; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. A brother, Don is deceased.

Funeral services were Monday at St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor Stephen Koenig and the Rev. Dan Clemens officiating.

Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge.

Burial with military rites by Chalmers American Legion post 268 was at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds.

Memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
