Norita Morganenne Downey, 68, of Buffalo, died Saturday, October 25, 2003, at Monticello Healthcare Center.

She was born at Buffalo on May 14, 1935 to Lloyd and Liberty Talbutt Hunt. She married Max Downey on October 3, 1954 at the White Oak Church in rural White County. He died November 29, 1980.

She lived in the Buffalo community all her life.

She was a farmer's wife and licensed practical nurse.

She worked at the Monticello Healthcare Center for 30 years before retiring in 2000.

She was a member of the Buffalo Christian Church and the Eagles Lodge and VFW of Monticello.

Survivors include a son Melvin H. Downey of Monticello; a daughter Mary Harger of Kokomo; a brother Larry G. Hunt of Buffalo and five grandchildren.

A brother Jack Hunt and a son Mark Downey are deceased.

Services were Wednesday, October 29, 2003, at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Rhoades Welling, officiating.

Burial will be at Buffalo Cemetery.
