Donald Lee Diggs

Donald Lee Diggs, 73, of Monon, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Home Hospital in Lafayette following a four month illness.

He was born at Ambia on July 15, 1932, the son of Benjamin and Margaret Williams Diggs. He married Suella Ross in Shawneetown, IL on July 21, 1951. She survives.

He was a 1950 graduate of Boswell High School.

He was a welder for several years and was retired. He had lived in the Monon area for 50 years.

He was a pilot and an avid flyer of radio-control and free-flight aircraft. He was a member of the Central Indiana Airo Modeler's Club and was a member of the American Modelers Association since the age of 15.

Other survivors include daughters, Donnie Diggs of Lafayette and Debbie (Bob) Newgent of Monticello; a son, Darrell (Linda) Diggs of Monticello; sisters Gloria Katherine Flynn of Brookston, Norma (Claude) Rathbone of Rossville and Lucille (Dick) Johnston of Red Rock Mountain, Nevada; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Five brothers and a sister are deceased.

Funeral services were Saturday at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Rev. Mathew Pickut, officiating.
