Theresa F. Denton

Theresa F. Denton, 46, of Monticello died Friday, September 24, 2004, at her residence.

She was born at Lafayette on December 8, 1957, the daughter of James D. Sr. and Pearl I. (Turner) Griffith. They survive.

She had lived in the Monticello community most of her life and was a 1976 graduate of Delphi Community High School.

She was a member of the Monticello Fire Department for 10 years and was a paramedic for 16 years. She was also a paramedic at Home Hospital in Lafayette and a first responder for the Chalmers Department.

She was a primary instructor for EMTs and Paramedics.

In 1998, she was named Paramedic of the Year at St Joseph Hospital in Kokomo.

She was a volunteer of White County Red Cross and Literacy Programs.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and working with her flowers.

Other survivors include companion Robert Hickman of Monticello, daughter Kelly (A.J.) Greathouse of Monticello; son A. J. Denton of Indianapolis; sisters Connie (Dean) Cripe and Tena (Brian) Fogarasi, all of Camden and Shirley Griffith of Walton; brother James D. (Bonnie) Griffith, Jr. of Camden; grandson Kaden Joseph Greathouse of Monticello and several nieces and nephews; and companion's parents Charles and Judy Hickman of Monticello.

An infant daughter, Brandy Sue Overmyer, is deceased.

Funeral services were Monday at New Hope Lutheran Church, Monticello, with Rev. James N. Gustafson officiating.

Burial was in Hughes Cemetery south of Buffalo.
