Sandra Jean Day

Sandra Jean Day, 64, of Monon, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000 at White County Memorial Hospital following an illness of five years.

She was born in South Bend on October 30, 1935, the daughter of Eugene and Freeda Marnocha Barnard. She married Jack L. Day in South Bend on June 14, 1969. He survives.

She was a 1948 graduate of Riley High School in South Bend.

She was a homemaker and had lived in Monon for 27 years, coming from South Bend.

She is survived by her husband, daughters, Sue Stickler of South Bend, Val Fritz of Winamac and Tracy Burch of Monon; sons, Gary Barnard, Chris Woolverton and Kevin Woolverton, all of South Bend; stepsons. Kerry Day of Mishawaka and Rick Day of South Bend; stepdaughter, Donna Gaskill of Edwardsburg, MI; sisters Linda Batzel of South Bend and Cora Lie Sherrill of Mishawaka. She had 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service was held today at Bedford Cemetery with Rev. Steve Birch officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon was in charge of arrangements.
