Mary Helen (Kiger) Davies, 91, of Brookston, died Friday, October 10, 2003 at Twin Lakes Village, Monticello.
She was born at Tangier on August 2, 1912. She married Glenwood E. Kiger in Tangier. He is deceased. She later married George E. Davies, at Lafayette on January 26, 1979. He survives.
She attended Tangier High School.
She moved to Brookston in 1940.
She was a cashier at Purdue University in the Memorial Union until retiring in 1978. She had previously worked as a cook at the Brookston School for several years.
She was a member of the Eastside Assembly of God Church.
She was a former member and Sunday school teacher at Brookston Federated Church and held Bible study in her home for two years.
She enjoyed wintering in Florida where she would ride her three-wheel bicycle. She was very outgoing and enjoyed people.
Other survivors include sons Jack (Ann) Kiger of Brookston and William "Bill" (Joan) Kiger of Bradenton, Fla.; stepsons Richard (Diane) Davies of Appleton, Wis., Max (Diane) Davies and Larry (Barb) Davies, both of Lafayette; brother Gene (Frances) Millikan of Kingman; sisters Marge Brooks of Naples, Fla., and Elise Overley of Lafayette; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Three sisters and two brothers are deceased.
Funeral services were Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Pongratz officiating.
Burial was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery, West Lafayette.
