Vera T. Darnell, 89, 207 N. Spruce St., Monon, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Regency Place Nursing Home in  Lafayette.

She was born March 28, 1897, in Chicago to Fredrick and Mina (Ehrler) Taube. She was married Feb. 14, 1916, to Wilbur Darnell who is deceased. She was a member of Monon Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, John A Darnell, Shreveport, La., and Wilbur P. Darnell, Lafayette; one daughter, Beverly Heater, South Bend; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

One son and one great-grandchild are deceased.

A service was conducted Monday at Stewart Funeral Home in Monon, the Revs. David Boehning and Mike Trueblood officiating.

Burial was in Chalmers Cemetery.
