Gerald M. Daly, 69, of Monon, died Friday, March 22, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

He was born on September 27, 1931, in Chicago to J.C. and Margaret Scanlan Daly. He married Patricia A. Wright on May 3, 1958. She survives.

He was a 1950 graduate of Austin High School in Chicago.

He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1951-55 in Japan, with two years of service as a staff sergeant.

He had summered here for 23 years and moved here 13 years ago from Woodridge, Ill.

He retired from AT&T in Chiago in 1987 after 32 years of employment.

He was a member of the Catholic Church.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Gayle (Calvin) Chany of Bolingbrook, Ill; sons, Stephen (Rebecca) Daly of Broomfield, Colo., Mark C. (Christina) Daly and Daniel (Julie) Daly, both of Naperville, Ill; sisters, Rosemary (Martin) Bussert of Elk Grove, Ill; Patricia (Stan) Atkinson of Lionidas, Mich. and Joan (Ray) Careaga of Raleigh, N.C.; brothers Robert (Carol) Daly of Madison. Wisc. and William Daly of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla. and four grandchildren.

Burial will be at a later date.

A sister, Margaret is deceased.
