Mae Pilling Cowdin, 94, a former Brookston resident died Monday, March 12, 2001 at Westminster Village, West Lafayette.
She was born Dec. 18, 1906, in Rainier, Ore. To Clarence and Pearl May Nipple Pilling. She married Thomas J. Cowdin in Lafayette on April 30, 1924. He died on June 25, 11969 [sic].
She attended Lafayette Jefferson High School and Lafayette Business College.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Brookston Federated Church and the former Philathen Sunday school class.
She was a former member of the Brookston American Legion Auxiliary.
She moved from Lafayette to Brookston in 1924. She had lived in Westminster Village since Aug. 2, 1976.
Surviving are two sons, Paul E. Cowdin of Ft. Myers, Fla. And Robert D. Cowdin of Montgomery Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Joann Pestka of West Point, Utah; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Paul and Harold are deceased.
Graveside funeral services were held on Friday, March 16, 2001, at IOOF Cemetery, Brookston with Rev. Dr. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
