Jeanne Wnght Coopman, 98, a former Brookston resident, died Monday, Nov. 15, at George Davis Manor, West Lafayette, where she had lived since June 1996.

She was born June 29, 1901, to John W. and Jennie Clare Ripley Wright in Brookston. She was married Jan. 10, 1921, to John C. Coopman, in Monticello, and he died May 29, 1990.

She was a 1919 graduate of Brookston High School. She spent two years studying music at Illinois Women's College.

She was a bookkeeper and she worked in sales at the Indiana Veterans Home.

She was a member of Brookston Federated Church. a life member of OES Monticello Cyrstal Chapter No. 165, was a life member of Delta Theta Chi sorority of Lafayette and was a former director of the Kitchen Band.

Surviving are a son, John W. Coopman. Lafayette; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A sister and daughter are deceased.

Funeral services were Thursday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston. with Rev Phil Emerson officiating.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
