Scott M. Cooper
Scott Michael Cooper, 38, of Chalmers died Sunday, August 24 [sic], 2002 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center Emergency Room, Lafayette.
He was born March 27, 1964, in Pawtucket, R.I., the son of Carol A. (Ronald) Smith of Lafayette and Thomas (Judy) Cooper of Battle Ground. He married Jana Kiser on November 2, 1984 in Chalmers. She survives.
He was a 1982 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Lafayette.
He was a member of Local 115, United Steelworkers of America. He worked for 14 years at Rostone Corp. in Lafayette and was presently employed as a crane operator at ALCOA in Lafayette.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and being with family and friends.
Surviving with his wife and parents are daughters Brittany and Brianna Cooper, at home; son, Mitchell Cooper at home; grandmothers, Camilla (Gerald) Eberle of Lafayette, Dorothy Linderer of Chalmers and Daisy Kiser of Royal Center; brother, Kent (Kelly) Cooper of Lafayette; sisters, Angie (Nick) Fletcher and Amy Young of Brookston; stepsisters, Sue (Bill) Sulfridge of Battle Ground and Julie Kerby of Crawfordsvile; five stcpbrothers, Ron (Dana) Smith, Jr. of Brookston, Michael (Cori) Smith of Fishers, Kerry Yoder of Indianapolis, John May of Rensselaer and Scott Savage of Thorntown; and 15 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 5-9 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Henderson officiating.
Burial will be at Chalmers Community Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Cooper Children Trust Fund.
