John "Jack" Cooley, 66, Lafayette, a former resident of Monon, died in November of 1999.
He was born August 13, 1933, to Clifford and Eulalia LaPlante Cooley, in Lafayette. His mother survives and lives in Monon. His father died March 25, 1984.
He had lived in Lafayette for 10 years, moving there from Bloomington.
He graduated in 1951, from Monon High School.
He worked as a salesman for Cargill Fertilizer, retiring in June, 1999, after 23 years of service.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea
He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Lafayette.
He was a member of the American Legion, 40&8 of Lafayette.
Surviving with his mother are two sons, Christian of LaGrange, Ill, and Joel of Suwanee, Ga; two brothers, Edwin and Gary, both of Monon; two sisters, Joyce Sullivan, Lafayette and Colleen Horner, Monon; and a grandchild.
A daughter is deceased
Funeral services were Monday at the Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with the Rev. Rob Eyman officiating.
Burial was in Bedford Cemetery, Monon.
Memorials may be given to the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Lafayette.
