William Conwell

William R. Conwell, 82, of Forest, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at his residence.

He was born in White County on August 17, 1921, to George L. and Mildred Faye (Hepp) Conwell. He married Mabel L. Pritts on September 30, 1972. She survives.

He graduated from Buffalo High School.

He was an Army veteran of World War II from Aug. 12, 1940 to June 21, 1946.

He retired as a truck driver after 47 years. He drove for various companies; the most recent was Exide Battery Company in Frankfort.

He was a member of the Buffalo Christian Church.

He attended Forest Baptist Church.

He was a member of the Frankfort American Legion.

Other survivors include sons, William Robert Conwell, Jr., of Auburn; daughters, Margie Morgan and Ellen Robbins both of Warsaw; stepdaughter, Sue (Howard) Marcum of Frankfort; stepson John H. Pritts of Glasgow, Ky.; sister, Esther (Russell) Owen of Monticello; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

One son, one daughter and one sister are deceased.

Funeral services were Friday at Stout & Son Funeral Home in Russiaville with Pastor Joel Olson officiating.

Burial was at St. Paul Cemetery near Forest.
