Faye Conwell

Faye Conwell, 96, died Thursday, Aug. 13, at her residence.

She was born July 9, 1902, to William and Dora Cochran Fitz Hepp, in White County. She was married in 1919, to George L. Conwell, in Buffalo, and he died in 1956.

She was the first woman fur buyer in the state of Indiana. She was also a cook for several years at both the Indiana Veterans Home in Lafayette and at the South Side Restaurant in Monon.

She was a lifetime resident of White County and was a member of the Buffalo Christian Church.

She is survived by a son, Robert of Forest; a daughter, Esther Owen of Buffalo; two half-brothers, Peter Hepp of Kingman, Ariz. and Tom Hepp of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.

A daughter, sister, half-sister and grandchild are deceased.

Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with the Rev. Alvin Smith officiating.

Burial was in the Buffalo Cemetery.
