John W. Collier Sr., 57, R.1, Chalmers, died unexpectedly Tuesday, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette.
He was
born Aug. 28, 1935, to Harvey L. and Nancy Ann Minniear Collier, in Cookeville,
Tenn.
He was
married June 24, 1961, to Zola M. Johnson, in Tazewell, Tenn. and she survives.
He moved
to Brookston-Chalmers area from Tennessee, in 1969. He had been employed
by Fauber Construction Co., Lafayette, since 1983. He was previously employed
by Goris Tire
Co., Lafayette.
He attended Chalmers Bible Center.
Surviving with his wife are five sons; Harvey L., John W. Jr and Darrell W., all of Brookston; Michael C and Terry L, both at home; one brother, Lewis of Cookeville; three sisters, Clata Randolph and Mrs James (Joyce) Montgomery, both of Cookeville and Mrs Charles (Catherine) Etheredge of Iron City, Tenn.; and four grandchildren. Two sisters are deceased.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Rev Charles Fluckey officiating. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.
