He was born on June 1, 1917, in Decatur, to Edward L. and Gouldie Brown Coffee. He married Margaret Wertzberger on Feb. 19, 1941, in Decatur. She died on May 14, 1998.

He retired from Inland Steel, Chicago, in 1976. He moved to the community from Highland, Ill. [i.e., Ind.]

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Center, West Lafayette.

Surviving are daughters, Mary Draskovick [i.e., Draskovich] of Van Nuys, Calif., Karen (Mitchell [i.e, Michel]) Wagner of Whiting and Kathleen Coffee and Sharon Gard, both of Brookston; sons Robert D. (Deb) Coffee of Las Vegas, Terrence [i.e., Terence] P. (Eileen) Coffee of Aberdeen, Md. and Richard F. (Melanie) Coffee of Los Angeles; sister, Vera Coughlin of Casa Grande, Calif. [i.e., AZ]; and six grandchildren.

A brother, Edward L. Coffee [Jr.] is deceased.

Funeral services were Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Center, West Lafayette.
