James Paul Clouse, 69, of Monticello, died Friday, March 10, in White County Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 26, 1930, to Paul Orlando and Ruth Leona Hayworth Clouse, in Rensselaer He was married Feb. 12, 1950, to Lucille Lutes, in Delphi. She died Jan. 6, 1995. He then married Billie Smith in Monticello, May 3, 1997 and she survives.
He was employed at J.R. Hayworth Wool & Poultry from age 15 until starting at People's State Bank in 1974. He served as president of the bank from 1980-1991 and was on the Peoples State Bank Board of Directors from 1968 until present.
He had lived in Francesville most of his life, moving to Monticello three years ago.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Francesville.
He was a member of American Legion Post 228 of Francesville. He was a former firefighter on the Francesville Volunteer Fire Department and former Library Board member. He was an avid pilot, golfer and I.U. fan.
He is survived by his wife, Billie (Smith) Clouse; sons, Richard D. Clouse, Francesville and James A. Clouse, Indianapolis; daughters, Linda Fuson, Lafayette and Susan Joseph, Indianapolis; stepdaughters, Terry Miller of Munster and Tammy. Downey of Buffalo; stepson, Ron Smith of Highland; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren and a great grandchild. His first wife and an infant daughter are deceased.
Funeral services were Monday at Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home, Francesville, with Jim Ketchen officiating.
Burial was in the Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
Memorials may be given to the Francesville Christian Church, Francesville Library orr the new town hall building fund.
