Arlene Marie Clinger

Arlene Marie Clinger, 75, Brookston and formerly of  Michigan City, died Friday, July 14, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

She was born Aug. 14, 1919, to Charles and Anna Timm Barkow, in Michigan City. She was married Sept. 3, 1938, to Glen Eldon Clinger, in Valparaiso, and he died Aug. 23, 1966.

She lived most of her life in Michigan City and was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs William (Sharon) Springer, Brookston; Mrs Casimir (Ruth Ann) Janas, LaPorte; Mrs De Wayne (Lynette) Tucker, Amarillo, Tx.; Janet Shaffer, Monticello; Mrs Lynn R. (Julianna) Banes, Lafayette and Mrs Daniel (Judith) Moran, Michigan City; a son, Darryl Clinger, Brookston; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

A grandchild, two brothers and two sisters are deceased.

The funeral was at the Carlisle Funeral Home, Michigan City, Tuesday, with the Rev. Silas Christian officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City.
