Helen I. Fahrner Clevinger, 74, of Brookston, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.

She was born on June 2, 1925 in Indianapolis to Frederick and Anna Stengel Fahrner.  She married Paul E. Clevinger on August 15, 1942 in Brookston.  He died on July 1, 1991.

She worked for General Foods in Lafayette for 10 years and retired in 1981.

She was a member of the Brookston Federated Church.

She was a member of the Brookston American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by daughter, Pamela S. Clevinger of Brookston; son, Greg C. Clevinger of Chalmers;
grandsons, Tony and Dustin Clevinger; brother Walter Fahrner of Indianapolis; and sisters, Olga Clevinger of Brookston and Florence Baker of Indianapolis.

Two brothers and one sister are deceased.

Funeral services were Saturday. March 4, 2000, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating.

Burial  was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
