EARL S.  CLERGET

Earl S. Clerget, 82, Monticello, died at 7:30 an. Sunday, June 14, in St. Anthony's Healthcare Center, Lafayette. He had been in failing health for six months and a resident of the Center since Tuesday.

Born Nov. 7, 1904, in White County, he lived in Monticello all of his life and farmed for 25 years before retiring in 1958. Also, he was a custodian for Twin Lakes School Corp. for several years and retired in 1973.

He married Elsie P. Dittman, June 11, 1933 in Fulton County. She died March 25, 1983.

Mr Clerget was member of the First Presbyterian Church in Monticello.

Surviving a son, Charles L. Clerget, Memphis, Tenn.; three daughters, Mrs Marilyn Kretzmeier, Otterbein; Nancy L. Clerget, West Lafayette and Mrs Ruth Ann Schwark, Orlando, Fla.; his mother, Stella Wilson Clerget, Monticello; a brother, Robert of Monticello; and three sisters, Irene Baker, Chalmers, Iva Dittman, Walton and Mrs Roscoe (Esther) Elston, Monon.

Services were at Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home, Monticello, Thursday morning.  Interment Bedford Cemetery near Monon.
