Marie Ella Tatman Stover Clawson, 86, of Brookston, died Monday, April 30, 2001 at her residence. She had been ill for three months.
She was born January 7, 1915, in Linden, to Levi C. and Mae-Belle Robertson Tatman. Her first marriage was to Roy Clayton Stover on October 3, 1937. He died on January 21, 1967.
Her second marriage was to Jim Clawson on October 1, 1980. He died November 30, 1987.
She attended Brookston schools.
She was a homemaker and worked at Purdue University's Harrison Hall for nine years.
She was a member of Brookston United Methodist Church and UMW. She was a member of Willing Workers, Brookston Senior Citizens and Twin lakes Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a son, Glen L. (Karen) Stover of Brookston; three daughters, Janet M. (William) Rizoff of Waukegan, Ill., Mary A. (Robert) Wilbanks and Judy M. (Dale) Bartlett, both of Brookston; a stepson, Chris Clawson. Three step daughters, Jamie Smith, Ramona Booth, and Birdina Brunton; two brothers, John Tatman, of Monon and Dale Tatman of Monticello; three sisters, Mary Duey of Attica, Irene Hartman of Elgin, Ill., and Sarah Sigman of Monticello. 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A brother, two sisters and a daughter Phyllis Jean Stover are deceased.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Hartzler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Jan Dimmick officiating.
Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston.
