James A. Clawson

James A. Clawson, 67, of 500 E. Second St., Brookston, dies [sic] Monday, Nov. 30, in Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been a patient there for five days.

He was born Sept. 26, 1920, in Warren County to George and Bessie Jones Clawson. He was married in Brookston on Oct. 1, 1980, to Marie Stover, who survives.

Surviving with his wife is one son, Chris Clawson of Lafayette; three daughters, Jamie Smith of Churubusco, Ramona Both of Hollywood, FL, and Burdina Brunton of Romney; a stepson, Glen Stover of Brrokston [sic]; three stepdaughters, Janet Rizoff of Waukegan, IL, Mary Wilbanks, and Judy Barlett of Brookston;  two brothers, Russell and Linder, both of Columbia City, two sisters, Birdena Stead of Brookston and Elma Russell of Attica; and six grandchildren.

He was a member of Brookston United Methodist Church and Green Hill Masonic Lodge. He was a retired maintenance worker for Tippecanoe School Corporation.

A daughter and three sisters are deceased.

The funeral was today at 2 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, the Rev. Gene Ansell officiating.

Burial in Armstrong Cemetery near Green Hill.
