Jean Christiansen, 73, of Brookston, died Tuesday August 26, 2003, in St. Anthony Healthcare, Lafayette. She had been in failing health.
She was born at Plymouth on May 2, 1930. She married John C. Christiansen at Chicago on November 4, 1960. He survives
She was a 1948 graduate of Lincoln High School in Plymouth.
She and her husband had lived in Monticello for six years before moving to the Chalmers-Brookston area in 1966.
She was a homemaker.
She served as Democratic Precinct Committee Chairperson for Prairie Township for more than 20 years.
Other survivors include her children Ted Christiansen of Lafayette, Robin (Kimberley) Christiansen of Monticello and Eva Tatman of Brookston; her stepchildren, Jan (Margaret) Christiansen of Hillsdale, Va., Sonja (Ken) Smith of Helix, Ore., and Inga (R.J.) Sterling of Selab, Wash.; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
A son, Karl Kinney, died in October 1995.
Services were Saturday, August 30. 2003 at the Chalmers Baptist Bible Church with Pastor Charles Fluckey officiating. Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home was in charge of services.
Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery, Rockfield.
